Frequently Asked Questions: Making a Reservation
- Flexible Booking & Payment: Reserve your group tour with an estimated guest count and provide the final count one week before your visit. Your remaining balance will be adjusted accordingly. A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your booking.
- Personal greeter to meet you at the visitor center.
- Docent-led tours are included and available mornings and afternoons and at the group rate of $70/person.
- Groups are allotted a number of vehicles relative to group size without added car fees.
We encourage visitors and Members make a reservation three to four weeks in advance for the best availability although spaces are often available within a shorter window. If your preferred date is unavailable, please check back as we occasionally release tickets due to cancellations.
Because Lotusland is a public garden operating in a private, residential neighborhood, advance reservations are required for all visits, and can be pre-paid by credit card or check. The County of Santa Barbara stipulates that we follow this rule with no exceptions.
Children greatly enjoy the magic of Lotusland, and we encourage families to visit. Children do need to be closely monitored for their safety and to protect rare plant species, historic statuary and numerous water features. All children, including infants, must be included on your reservation.
To ensure the best experience for all guests, groups 15+ may reserve as a group reservation. Group tours are available for booking at 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM on days we are open for public visitation (excluding Jun- Aug Saturdays) and based on availability.

Cancellations made with at least a week’s notice will receive a full refund. Cancellations made with less than a week’s notice will be considered forfeited.
