Well-being at Lotusland- Sound Meditation
Nature restores us and promotes a sense of well-being. Join us for an opportunity to engage with nature and experience the Garden with a fresh perspective. We encourage participants to make an additional reservation for the afternoon tour to extend the Garden experience.
Professor Fabio Rambelli will guide participants through the ancient wellness technique of sound bathing, using the shō to create a meditative connection between sound, space, and the human body. Exploring the relationships between music, nature, and mindfulness, this experience aligns with traditional East Asian understandings of how sound interacts with emotions, seasons, and the cosmos.
Fabio Rambelli
Fabio Rambelli is a leading scholar in Japanese Religions and Cultural History at UC Santa Barbara. As a practitioner of the shō, he integrates academic and musical traditions to explore the role of sound in religious and philosophical thought.
