SUMMARY:Spirit Garden by PALMA Colectiva
DESCRIPTION:Public Event On-Site \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\nClick ‘Reserve Now’ to be directed to PALMA Colectiva website. *Adults Only*This retreat is non-refundable and non-transferrable. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nReserve Now\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWell-being at Lotusland \n\n\n\nJoin PALMA Colectiva and Belle Hahn\, for Spirit Garden\, an afternoon immersion at Lotusland garden embodying the spirit of the garden through relation to the plants and elemental forces that create it’s alchemy. Through Tea Ceremony\, mindful nature walking\, nourishing food\, and a private performance from Moon Valley Choir\, we’ll drop in to the creative essence and regenerative spirit of the garden and it’s rich history of a place of sanctuary and exploration.  \n\n\n\nWe’ll begin with Cha Dao Tea Ceremony with Morgann Francesca in the Japanese Garden. Cha Dao\, or “the way of tea” is a silent tea meditation from the Chinese lineage bringing one in relation to spirit and the natural wonders of plant and water. We will then mindfully move through the garden to a beautiful nourishing spread and enjoy some conversation around the history of the garden and it’s cultural significance. Following is a one of a kind private performance by Moon Valley Choir- a collective of women local to Ojai who sing in celebration of life\, healing\, and exploration of the great mystery. Through song\, dance\, and storytelling\, they perform rituals and rites\, guiding others into the heart of profound experience.  \n\n\n\nGifting provided by Danuta Skin.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPalma Collectiva\n\n\n\nThe Mission of PALMA is to bring together multiple healing modalities working through the mind\, body\, and spirit in a curated manner that will inspire and bring forth deep wellness. Among these are three Encephalartos woodii—one of the rarest plants on Earth\, extinct in the wild and preserved only in botanical gardens.   \n\n\n\nDuring the tour\, Paul and Tyler will discuss the garden’s role in global conservation efforts\, including strategies to protect these endangered species from extinction. You’ll learn about the challenges of cultivating cycads\, their unique adaptations\, and the sustainable practices employed to maintain their health and vitality. \n\n\n\nThis event is designed for members who are already familiar with Lotusland and wish to deepen their understanding of its living collections. Engage directly with the experts who steward this extraordinary garden and gain insights into the meticulous care that preserves its legacy.Paths may be uneven so please wear appropriate footwear. \n\n\n\nReservations required and space is limited to 15 participants. For questions\, please call 805.969.9990 or reserve online. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCycad Garden\n\n\n\nMany refer to the Jurassic Period as the “Age of Cycads.”Today\, these unusual cone-bearing plants are one the most threatened plant groups on the planet due to over-collecting\, deforestation\, agricultural clearing\, and urban sprawl. Lotusland cares for many species of cycads that are threatened — including five species in the collection that are believed to be extinct in the wild. Upon its completion\, Charles Glass\, a renowned plantsman who designed the garden\, told Madame Walska\, “This will be one of the greatest achievements of our lives.” Glass was not exaggerating. Lotusland’s collection is considered one of the most complete in any American public garden\, with over 450 specimens and almost half of the known species. \n\n\n\nNOTABLE SPECIES \n\n\n\nEncephalartos horridus\, E. trispinosus\, E. lehmannii\, E. heenanii\, E. latifrons\, E. ferox\, E. lanatus\, E. friderici-guilielmi\, Cycas revoluta\, Lepidozamia peroffskyana\, Ceratozamia latifolia\, Ceratozamia fuscoviridis\, Dioon oaxacensis\, Wollemia nobilis\, Jubaeopsis caffra
