“EVERYONE WHO’S BEEN THERE KNOWS: LOTUSLAND IS ONE OF THE HIDDEN TREASURES OF THE WORLD.” — Pico Iyer
Ganna Walska Lotusland is an enchanted world where science, conservation, nature, architecture and design meet in harmony. Overwhelming evidence shows that gardens provide emotional as well as physical wellbeing. Our campaign, Restoring Body & Spirit is designed to rejuvenate Lotusland’s Japanese Garden, and to benefit all who enter. The Garden is nearly complete and will reopen this summer.
Now we turn to you. Join us with a gift to help us complete the project and a part of a passionate community of people investing in Lotusland’s future.
Your donation supports our mission and helps to safeguard nature and promote wellness. Naming opportunities are available starting at $100,000, and gifts may be paid over five years. Contributors with gifts of $10,000+ to this momentous project will be recognized with permanent recognition in the garden. Gifts of all sizes are sincerely appreciated.
This is the largest renovation of any garden in Lotusland’s history. For the first time, the Japanese Garden is wheelchair friendly, boasting new entrances, winding gently sloped pathways, and wide Spring Blossom and Japanese Maple Walks.
Newly constructed Miwatasu and Cryptomeria gathering areas will be home for programs and events harnessing the healing power of the Japanese Garden. In the garden, you will encounter a Lotus Viewing Deck within the revived Reflecting Pond, along with a new Arch Bridge and a Karensansui dry garden. Our beloved our historic Stone Bridge remains and the final feature to be added is a beautiful Japanese style open-air Pavilion, which will be a space for reflection, mindfulness and community classes.
We are in the home stretch of securing funds for the project with $500,000 remaining to be raised!
To protect these physical improvements and our plant collections, the Japanese Garden requires specialized care. Like all well managed institutions, Lotusland’s endowment is the key to our future. Funds are needed to seed a new Japanese Garden Endowment. These contributions will provide a reliable stream of income to support the perpetual care and maintenance of this sacred garden.
Please join us today in support of this important endeavor – for the benefit of today’s guests and generations to come. Together, we can inspire countless others and leave an enduring legacy in our community.
Be a permanent part of the Garden with your name on the Montecito Bank & Trust Donor wall.
