The Parterre is a series of formal planting beds and brick walkways with two central water features. It is divided into two sections by hedges: the rose garden and star-shaped fountain on the north, and pebble mosaics and the Neptune fountain on the south.
Madame Walska had a rose garden in the upper portion of the parterre. Turf now fills the lower beds and cultivars of day lilies grow in the narrow middle beds. The Moorish fountain and surrounding brickwork were restored with the addition of a recirculation system in the fountain. The balustrade above the roses was also repaired. After extensive soil renovation which included the addition of a subsurface drainage system in 1994-95, a selection of floribunda roses were planted in the upper beds.
