Summer Bounty: A Lotusland Food & Wine Fête

An Exclusive Opportunity for Lotus Keeper level Members     Celebrate the beautiful evening light of the summer solstice with an intimate dinner served on Lotusland’s Main Lawn. Chef Ron True of Arlington Tavern will be preparing a special menu for this farm-style feast, featuring locally sourced ingredients, especially from Lotusland’s organic orchard, with expert wine pairings by Sommelier Dane Campbell, Wine Education Manager at  Zaca Mesa Winery.

Members’ Family Day 2014

Members’ Family Day: We Live in a Desert, Let’s Be Water Wise! Behind the Scenes Tour with Virginia Hayes

Take a stroll with Curator Virginia Hayes and visit some behind-the-scenes locations not included on a regular tour including the wellhead and pump house, the nursery and propagation areas, and our acclaimed composting and compost tea brewing operation.   The tour will stop at the Main House mid-way for light refreshments. Morning Bird Walk at Lotusland

Join Lotusland Research Associate Jeff Chemnick and Director Emeritus Steve Timbrook as they lead their annual winter bird walk. The morning tour focuses on seeing as many species as possible. Aloes display their spectacular blooms when most plants are dormant during the winter months—and when Lotusland is closed for public tours.
